A tincture is a liquid extract that can be administered directly onto the tongue and is great for quick results. Unlike edibles, the results are felt almost immediately. Tinctures are included in this section, as they are required in other recipes. Unfortunately, tinctures are much like a fine whiskey, for the best results, it takes two months to infuse. But your patience will be rewarded. You will need:
- 12 ounces vegetable glycerin
- 14 grams coarsely ground cannabis
- Airtight jar
Begin by decarboxylating the flower (225 F for 30 to 45 minutes). Transfer the decarboxylated cannabis to a jar. Pour the glycerin over the flower so that it is completely covered in glycerin. Secure the lid and mix the amalgamation by rolling the jar back and forth. Keep the jar in a dark area at room temperature. Shake the jar once a week for 8 weeks. After 2 months, use a dropper to drip onto the tongue. Start with 10 drops and see how that affects you after four hours. If that taste is bothersome, try adding it to a sweet beverage.
